Take a moment to think about your best leader experiences. What did those leaders do that inspired you? Of course, engagement surveys tell us how people feel (and want to feel) at work. Still, leaders can get ahead of these surveys by knowing and activating key engagement drivers.
People are much more likely to be engaged and perform their best when they:
- Know what to focus their energy on and what the expectation is (clarity)
- Have a say in the decisions that impact them (their opinions count)
- Feel valued as a member of the team and business
- Are making a difference (contributing in a meaningful way)
- Are learning, growing and making headway
- Belong (feel included, involved and connected to others)
